Make a photo slideshow video
Drop your photos, put them in order, pick how long each one stays, add a song and download an MP4. It all happens on this device; nothing is uploaded.
- Nothing is uploaded
- Works offline after first visit
- Open source
- No watermark. From 2 to 100 photos; the limit is your device’s memory (phones hold less).
Makes an MP4 slideshow from 2 to 100 photos in the order you set, with seconds per photo, a crossfade and an optional song. It is free, needs no account and adds no watermark, and your files are not uploaded: everything runs in your browser on your device. A slideshow can hold up to 100 photos, and the limit is your device’s memory (phones hold less); give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, and then it works offline.
Done
Free, no ads. Support StayPut
Open the network tab. Your files never appear in it.
Add files and run the tool to see every request this tab makes.
Your files are processed on this device and never sent to a server. Reload the page to clear everything from memory.
What it doesn’t do
There is no text on slides, no pan and zoom, no templates and no stock music, and every photo stays on screen for the same time. For words on a video, use Add subtitles to video. To join video clips, use Merge videos.
Where the video plays
The result is a standard MP4 that WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, PowerPoint and TVs open. Pick tall 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, square for feeds, or wide 16:9 for YouTube and slides. Trim the result with Trim video, or make it smaller with Compress video.
How it works
- Drop your photos, and a song if you like. Pictures from an iPhone (HEIC) work too.
- Put the photos in order with the arrows or by dragging, and set the seconds per photo.
- Press Make video and download the MP4.
In your browser, not on a server
Your browser decodes each photo in the tab (libheif or the Squoosh decoders step in for HEIC, AVIF and JPEG XL) and draws it on a canvas the size of the video frame, whole over a blurred copy of itself or cropped to fill. Its own WebCodecs encoders write one frame a second while a photo holds, and a short run of frames for each crossfade, with the song as AAC or Opus. Mediabunny (MPL-2.0) packs them into an MP4.
Compared with upload-based tools: Online slideshow makers upload your photos, put their logo on the free video, and ask you to sign in before you can download. Family photos stay on your device here, and the file you save carries no mark.
Verify it yourself. Give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, then turn off Wi-Fi or switch to airplane mode and run the tool again. Or open your browser's developer tools (F12, or Cmd-Option-I on a Mac), pick the Network tab, and watch it while you convert. The panel above does the same count for you.
Questions
Is there a watermark or a limit?
There is no watermark and no sign-up. You can use 2 to 100 photos, and the limit is your device’s memory (phones hold less), so a long slideshow of large photos may need a computer.
Can I add music?
Yes. Drop one song with the photos: it is cut at the end with a one-second fade, or repeats if it is shorter. To add sound to a slideshow you already made, use Add audio to video.
How long will the video be?
The number of photos times the seconds per photo. Twenty photos at 3 seconds each make a one-minute video. The Match the song button sets the seconds so the photos fill the song.
What shape should I pick for Instagram, TikTok or YouTube?
Tall 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, square for feed posts, wide 16:9 for YouTube and slides. For an existing video, see Crop video for TikTok.
Can I use HEIC photos from my iPhone?
Yes. HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF photos are read in your browser, so there is no need to convert them first.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are decoded and the video is written in this tab, with no photo or file name sent anywhere. Open the network tab, run it, and your photos are not among the requests.
Can I make a GIF instead?
Yes: the GIF maker makes a looping GIF from the same kind of photos. For one picture under a song, see Audio to video.
