Repeat a video

Save a clip repeated end to end as one longer file, by count or by length. Done on this device, never uploaded.

Repeats a video clip end to end 2 to 50 times, or to a length you set, copying the picture and sound as they are where it can, and saves one longer file. It is free, needs no account and adds no watermark, and your files are not uploaded: everything runs in your browser on your device. The size limit is your device’s memory, and phones hold less; give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, and then it works offline.

Drop the video to repeator click to choose a file.

Your files are processed on this device and never sent to a server. Reload the page to clear everything from memory.

    How it works

    1. Drop a video (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV), or tap to pick one.
    2. Choose how many times to repeat it, or how long the result should be. The size of the file is shown before you run.
    3. Press Repeat video and save the longer file. The clip is copied as it is when it can be, so it is quick.

In your browser, not on a server

Mediabunny (MPL-2.0) reads the MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV clip in your tab. When the container can hold its codecs, each packet of picture and sound is written again with a later time, once per repeat, with no decoding or encoding. Otherwise your browser decodes the frames (WebCodecs) and encodes the repeated clip once into an MP4, H.264 where available.

Compared with upload-based tools: Online video loopers upload the clip to a server, cap free files and lengths, and often stamp a watermark on the longer result. Here the clip never leaves your device and the repeated file is written from memory in your tab.

Verify it yourself. Give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, then turn off Wi-Fi or switch to airplane mode and run the tool again. Or open your browser's developer tools (F12, or Cmd-Option-I on a Mac), pick the Network tab, and watch it while you convert. The panel above does the same count for you.

    Questions

Does this make a looping player, or a longer file?

A longer file. The clip is written into a new video N times, one after another, so it keeps repeating in any player, on a TV or when posted. To watch a clip on repeat without saving anything, use the loop button of your video player.

How long will a repeated clip be?

The clip’s length times the number of repeats: a 10-second clip repeated 60 times is 10 minutes. With a target length, the clip is repeated until it is at least that long, and the last repeat is whole.

Why is there a size limit?

The new file is built in your browser’s memory, and it grows with every repeat. The page estimates it from the clip’s size before it starts and refuses anything over 2 GB, or over about 200 MB on a phone, instead of crashing halfway.

    Is the video re-encoded?

Not when it can be avoided. H.264 or HEVC video with AAC sound in an MP4 or MOV (and VP9 or AV1 in WebM or MKV) is copied packet by packet, so there is no quality loss and the time taken is about the size of the output. Other clips are decoded and encoded once into an MP4, which takes longer.

Why can I hear or see a jump where the clip repeats?

The end of the clip is joined to its own start. If the picture or sound does not match there (a person mid-gesture, a note cut off), the seam shows. Trim the clip so it ends where it begins first with Trim video.

    Are my videos uploaded?

No. The clip is read and written in this tab. There is no upload and no watermark.
