JPG is the format every device, every website and every printer understands. Converting a WebP photo to JPG keeps the file small while making it universally openable, which is why it is the most common conversion people need after saving a picture from the web.
WebP can hold transparency and JPG cannot, so the options include a background colour to fill transparent areas. The quality slider controls the size of the JPG; 85 to 90 looks identical to the source for photos. Your browser decodes and encodes the image itself; nothing is uploaded.

In your browser, not on a server
Your browser already knows how to decode JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and SVG. Stayput draws each image onto an off-screen canvas and asks the browser to encode it again in the format you picked. HEIC input goes through the libheif WebAssembly decoder, and JPEG XL (or AVIF, in a browser without native support) through the Squoosh decoders compiled to WebAssembly, fetched once as program files and cached. Nothing here needs a server because nothing here is beyond what a browser can do on its own.
Compared with upload-based tools: Online converters upload your image, convert it on their machine and hand it back through an ad-covered download page. This does the same conversion with the same codecs, on your device, in less time than the upload.
Verify it yourself. Load this page, turn off Wi-Fi or switch to airplane mode, and run the tool. Or open your browser's developer tools (F12, or Cmd-Option-I on a Mac), pick the Network tab, and watch it while you convert. The panel above does the same count for you.
Questions
Does converting WebP to JPG lose quality?
Both are lossy formats, so each conversion discards a little. At quality 90 the difference is not visible. Avoid converting back and forth repeatedly.
What about transparent WebP images?
JPG has no transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick. If you need the transparency, convert to PNG instead.
Is there a file limit?
No. There is no server counting your conversions. Drop as many as your device can hold in memory.
