Resize an image to 1024 × 1024

An exact 1024-pixel square for app icons, AI tools and avatars, made on this device.

Make an exact 1024×1024 square for the App Store icon, AI image tools, profile pictures or product shots: crop to fill or pad. It is free, needs no account and adds no watermark, and your files are not uploaded: everything runs in your browser on your device. The size limit is your device’s memory, and phones hold less; give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, and then it works offline.

The highest quality that fits is picked for each image; if even the lowest does not fit, the picture is made smaller.

    Working…

    Done

Your files are processed on this device and never sent to a server. Reload the page to clear everything from memory.

Apple asks for a 1024 × 1024 app icon when you submit to the App Store, many AI image editors and model fine-tuning tools take 1024-pixel squares, and it is a common size for marketplace product photos and high-resolution profile pictures.

The page makes each picture that exact square. Crop to fill takes the centre square of a rectangular picture; Fit inside keeps the whole thing and pads the sides, transparent in a PNG or WebP, white in a JPG. The format of the original is kept by default, so a PNG icon stays a PNG with its edges intact.

For an App Store icon, save as PNG and make sure the design has no transparent areas: Apple rejects icons with an alpha channel in use. Fill the background in your design first, or save as JPG from here, which puts transparent areas on white.

Diffusion image models such as Stable Diffusion XL and many image-to-image tools also work natively at 1024 × 1024. Feeding them a picture at exactly that size avoids their own automatic cropping and resampling, so you choose what gets cut from a rectangular original instead of the tool doing it silently.

    How it works

    1. Drop the pictures.
    2. Pick Crop to fill or Fit inside.
    3. Press Resize to 1024×1024.

In your browser, not on a server

Resizing uses stepped downscaling on a canvas so text and edges stay sharp, and the browser encodes the result at the quality you choose. Everything happens in memory in your tab. Large batches are processed one image at a time so the page stays responsive on a phone.

Compared with upload-based tools: Image compressors that upload your photos limit you to a few files, a small size, or a watermark until you pay. This one has no counter to reset because there is no server to keep one.

Verify it yourself. Give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, then turn off Wi-Fi or switch to airplane mode and run the tool again. Or open your browser's developer tools (F12, or Cmd-Option-I on a Mac), pick the Network tab, and watch it while you convert. The panel above does the same count for you.

    Questions

I need a whole set of icon sizes.

For website icons, the favicon generator makes every size and the .ico from one picture. For an app, create the 1024 master here; Xcode and Android Studio derive the smaller sizes.

Can I use it for AI training images?

Yes. Drop the whole set; each comes out 1024 × 1024 with the centre kept, which is what most fine-tuning guides ask for. Check any faces or subjects near the edges afterwards.

Does it upscale a smaller picture?

Yes, to reach the exact size, but plain enlarging softens detail. For a picture under about 700 pixels, run it through the AI image upscaler first.

    Is the file uploaded anywhere?

No. There is no server in this process. The page is a static file and the work is done by code running inside your browser tab. Give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use; then you can turn off Wi-Fi and it still works.
