Make a contact QR code
Scan it and your name, number, email and company go straight into the phone’s contacts.
- Nothing is uploaded
- Works offline after first visit
- Open source
- No watermark · limit is your device’s memory; phones hold less
Put your contact details in a QR code that saves straight to a phone’s contacts. It is free, and what you type is not uploaded: everything runs in your browser on your device. The codes are static, so they never expire, and after one visit and a short wait the page works offline.
Colours, size and error correction
Type above and the code appears here.
Done
Open the network tab. Your files never appear in it.
Add files and run the tool to see every request this tab makes.
Your files are processed on this device and never sent to a server. Reload the page to clear everything from memory.
A contact QR code holds a vCard, the format phones use for address book entries. Scanning it shows your details with an “Add to contacts” button, so nobody has to type your number from a business card or a slide.
The details are written into the code itself, so it keeps working for as long as they are right, with no account and no link that can expire. Many “digital business card” services put a link to their own page in the code instead, which stops working when you stop paying.
Your details are turned into the code in your browser and never sent to a server.
How it works
- Fill in the fields you want to share. Leave the rest empty; fewer fields make a smaller, easier-to-scan code.
- Write the phone number with its country code, such as +44 or +1, so it works for people abroad.
- Scan the preview to check it, then download an SVG for print or a PNG for slides and email signatures.
In your browser, not on a server
A QR encoder written for this site (byte mode, versions 1 to 40, Reed–Solomon error correction and the standard’s mask scoring) turns your text into the grid of squares in your tab. The PNG is drawn on a canvas by your browser and the SVG is written as one path, so both are exact, with no blur.
Compared with upload-based tools: Most QR code sites make you sign up, send your link and Wi-Fi password to their servers, and hand out “dynamic” codes that redirect through their domain, so they can count scans and switch your code off when a trial ends. Here the code holds your text directly, never expires, and nothing you type leaves your device.
Verify it yourself. Give the page a short while after one visit to save itself for offline use, then turn off Wi-Fi or switch to airplane mode and run the tool again. Or open your browser's developer tools (F12, or Cmd-Option-I on a Mac), pick the Network tab, and watch it while you convert. The panel above does the same count for you.
Questions
How small can I print it on a business card?
About 2 cm (0.8 inch) square is the practical minimum for a contact code with a few fields, with the standard white border around it. The more fields you fill, the denser the code, and the larger it needs to be.
Can I update my details later?
Not in the same code: the details are the code. Make a new one when they change. That is also why it can never expire or be switched off.
Can I add a photo or a logo?
Not in this code; photos are far too large for a QR code. To put a small logo over the middle of the printed code, set error correction to High so the code still reads with part of it covered.

Guides
- How to make a QR codeA QR code from some free generators stops working the moment their account expires, because it points at a short link, not your content. Here is how to make one that never does.
